Privacy Policy — The Greats Within (iOS and Android app)
Effective date: 2026-09-24
Operated by: Five Explorers Press, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”), a Wyoming limited liability company
Public product name: The Greats Within

This policy describes The Greats Within mobile application for iPhone and Android. The marketing website at https://greatswithin.com is covered by a separate website privacy policy.
1. Summary
The Greats Within is designed to work with minimal data.
- The app requires no app-specific account.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not show third-party advertisements and we do not use cross-app tracking for advertising.
- We do not collect names, health data, contacts, precise location, spoken input, voice recordings, messages, or manifestation goals as product analytics.
- Subscriptions, if you buy Premium, are processed by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment-card details.
2. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to people who download or use The Greats Within iOS or Android app.
The product is intended for adults 18+ in the United States, in English. It is not directed at children. See §10.
3. What the app collects
3.1 No app account
Listening does not require registration, a password, or an app-specific user profile. Purchases and restoration use the listener’s Apple or Google store account only, not an account we operate. There is no free daily session.
3.2 Purchase and entitlement data (Premium)
If you subscribe, Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) processes the payment.
Planned processor: RevenueCat, used to validate and manage subscription status.
RevenueCat is planned to receive an anonymous app-user identifier and purchase-receipt / entitlement data sufficient to confirm Premium access and support Restore Purchases. We do not receive your full payment-card number, and we do not operate a separate password or account system.
Store subscriptions remain the source of entitlement truth. Restoration across platforms, family-sharing or store-account changes, and RevenueCat identity behavior will not create a universal cross-platform profile.
3.3 Product analytics (planned; opt-out)
Planned processor: PostHog Cloud, United States region.
If product analytics ship in a given build, we collect a limited, predefined set of anonymous usage events so we can understand whether the app is used as intended. The product contract allowlist is:
- session started
- session completed
- author selected
- premium CTA tapped
- paywall viewed
- trial started
- subscription purchased
- subscription / purchase restored
Event properties must not contain free text, quotation text, recording metadata, microphone state, file paths, names, email, advertising identifiers, precise location, health information, or entitlement payloads.
You can opt out of product analytics in the app’s Settings. Autocapture and session replay are planned to remain off. A random pseudonymous installation identifier is the planned identity model — not your name.
Until PostHog is verified in the submitted binary, store questionnaires must not claim that a third-party analytics SDK is collecting data.
3.4 Crash diagnostics (planned)
Planned processor: managed GlitchTip using the Sentry React Native SDK. Sentry Cloud is the documented fallback if compatibility or reliability fails.
If the app crashes and this service is present in that build, scrubbed diagnostic data is sent so we can fix the problem. The same content restrictions apply as for analytics: no quotation text, recordings, microphone state, file paths, or unnecessary identifiers. Session replay, attachments, and performance tracing are planned to remain off initially.
Until crash diagnostics are verified in the submitted binary, store questionnaires must not claim that a crash SDK is collecting data.
3.5 Content delivery
Session audio, artwork, transcripts, and catalogue manifests are planned to be delivered through Cloudflare (Worker gateway, R2 object storage, and related request logs). Standard technical request data — such as IP address, user-agent, and requested asset — is processed to serve and secure that content.
We do not receive listener-created recordings through this path. Permanent catalogue downloads are out of scope. The app may temporarily cache only what is needed for the current session.
3.6 Local data on your device
The following are stored on your device, not as a cloud profile we operate:
- reminder on/off and the time you choose, if you opt in;
- playback position for the current session;
- text quotation favorites, if that feature ships in the build you use.
The daily reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. There is no push-notification server, no device-token backend, and no remote-notification campaign in the MVP.
3.7 Manual voice recordings (not required for the 28 November 2026 cut)
If manual on-device recording later ships, those files are user-controlled local recordings of approved favorite quotations. They are not collected data. They must not be uploaded, analyzed, synthesized, shared, or sent through analytics, diagnostics, backend requests, or support attachments. They are never represented as historical-author audio.
Until that feature ships, this subsection is a product-contract reservation, not a claim that recording is currently available.
3.8 What we do not collect
We do not collect, as product data:
- your name or a profile you create with us;
- precise location;
- contacts;
- health, medical, or mental-health information;
- financial concerns, relationship goals, or manifestation targets;
- advertising identifiers, while there is no third-party ad network;
- the text of quotations you favorite, as analytics;
- microphone audio, unless you later use a shipped local-recording feature, in which case the audio stays on your device.
4. How we use data
We use the categories above only to:
- deliver catalogue audio and related session materials;
- validate Premium access and Restore Purchases;
- understand aggregate product usage, unless you opt out of analytics;
- diagnose and fix crashes and delivery failures;
- schedule a local reminder you asked for;
- meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not use this data to personalize sensitive topics, to serve third-party ads, or to train a voice clone.
5. Sharing and processors
We share information only with the processors needed to operate the app, or if required by law.
| Processor (planned / store-reconcile) | Role |
|---|---|
| Apple App Store | Payment, subscription, and Restore Purchases on iOS |
| Google Play | Payment, subscription, and Restore Purchases on Android |
| RevenueCat | Entitlement validation and purchase status |
| PostHog Cloud (U.S.) | Allowlisted product analytics, if present and not opted out |
| GlitchTip / Sentry SDK (Sentry Cloud fallback) | Crash diagnostics, if present |
| Cloudflare | Content delivery, request security, and related logs |
We do not sell personal information. We do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use a third-party advertising network in the MVP.
6. Your choices and rights
- Subscriptions. Cancel or manage Premium anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Analytics. Opt out in the app’s Settings if analytics have shipped in that build.
- Reminders. Turn the daily reminder off in the app or in your device settings.
- Local data. Uninstalling the app deletes on-device reminder preference, playback position, favorites, and any later local recordings, subject to ordinary device backup behavior.
- Access and deletion. Email support@greatswithin.com to request access to or deletion of any data associated with you that we control. We honor reasonable requests regardless of where you live and respond within 45 days.
Five Explorers Press, LLC expects to be below the applicability thresholds of comprehensive U.S. state privacy laws at launch. We still honor access and deletion requests voluntarily.
7. Retention and security
- Subscription and entitlement records are kept as long as needed to service the subscription, prevent fraud, and meet legal, tax, and store obligations.
- Analytics and crash events, if collected, are retained only as long as needed for the product and reliability purposes described above.
- Cloudflare request logs follow that provider’s ordinary retention for security and delivery.
- Data stored only on your device is deleted when you delete the app, subject to any backup copy your device or platform keeps.
We use reputable processors and industry-standard technical measures, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
8. International users and U.S. processing
The app is first offered in the United States. Planned processors named above operate in the United States. If you use the app from another country, your information may be processed in the United States.
9. No advertising identifiers or tracking for ads
The MVP does not include a third-party advertising network. Advertising identifiers should remain unused while that remains true. We do not use data from the app for cross-app tracking for advertising.
10. Children and COPPA
The app is intended for adults 18+ and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us information, email support@greatswithin.com and we will delete it.
11. Changes
We will post updates at https://greatswithin.com/app-privacy and update the effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app or by email where we have a practical way to reach you.
