The Greats Within

Today’s Motivation

Summary

One idea, in modern words, clearly labeled as ours.

Quotation

The author’s exact words from a public-domain edition. If we can’t quote a passage, we’ll say so instead of paraphrasing.

Affirmation

Original inspired wording. Not spoken by a historical author.

Five-minute morning motivation you can listen to

The Greats Within is a spoken-word motivation app for iPhone and Android. It is written for listeners who already read self-help or New Thought, recognize names such as Florence Scovel Shinn and Wallace D. Wattles, and want a dependable way to regain steadiness—not another introductory course.

Every local calendar day brings one new five-minute Today’s Motivation session. There is no app account. Exactly three cards appear: a modern summary, a quotation or honest rights notice, and an inspired affirmation. Every passage is labeled.

New Thought authors, read in a calm spoken voice

Launch authors are editorial identifiers for the catalogue. Narration is synthetic generated speech, not an original recording of a historical author. The public brand does not claim affiliation with an author, estate, or publisher. Longer author notes are in the FAQ.

Florence Scovel Shinn (1871–1940) was an American New Thought writer and illustrator. We quote her 1925 book The Game of Life and How to Play It from a public-domain edition. Florence Scovel Shinn

Wallace D. Wattles (1860–1911) was an American New Thought writer. We quote his 1910 book The Science of Getting Rich from a public-domain edition. Wallace D. Wattles

FAQ

The same answers live at the FAQ page, which is the URL to cite.

What is New Thought?

New Thought is a spiritual and philosophical movement that took shape in the United States during the 19th century. Its writers focused on thought and belief in daily life. The Greats Within presents classic texts and original modern summaries as Lifestyle listening practice. It is educational study, not a church, therapy service, or official estate project. See What is New Thought?.

What are affirmations?

Affirmations are short spoken statements used as a mindfulness or mindset practice. In The Greats Within they are original inspired wording, labeled as an affirmation, and read in a calm synthetic voice. They are educational listening, not clinical advice, and they are not the words of a historical author.

How do I listen to affirmations as a daily practice?

Find a quiet place, headphones optional, for about five minutes at a regular time of day. The Greats Within uses calm synthetic narration so the daily listen stays consistent. This is a Lifestyle habit, not treatment.

What is a daily motivation practice?

A daily motivation practice is a brief, repeatable Lifestyle habit. In The Greats Within, that means listening to one short spoken-word session, then carrying one useful idea into the rest of the day. The app is educational listening, not treatment, and it does not promise results. Today's quote is free. Past days' quotes and the rest of the library are premium.

Who are Florence Scovel Shinn and Wallace D. Wattles?

Classic New Thought authors featured here for study and listening. Their names are editorial identifiers only. The app is independently produced by Five Explorers Press, LLC, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any author estate, heirs, or publishers.

Florence Scovel Shinn (1871–1940) was an American New Thought writer and illustrator. We quote her 1925 book The Game of Life and How to Play It from a public-domain edition. More: Florence Scovel Shinn.

Wallace D. Wattles (1860–1911) was an American New Thought writer. We quote his 1910 book The Science of Getting Rich from a public-domain edition. More: Wallace D. Wattles.

Is The Greats Within a therapy or mental health app?

No. It is Lifestyle / educational spoken-word motivation only. It is not a substitute for professional medical or mental-health care.

Why spoken-word instead of music playlists?

Calm narration of classic lines supports focus and a read-along listen. It is motivational audio, not a music or noise playlist.

How long is each daily session?

Each Today's Motivation session in The Greats Within runs about five minutes. It has three labeled cards: a modern summary, a quotation from a public-domain edition (or a rights notice if we cannot quote), and an original affirmation. A new session appears each local calendar day. That day's quote is free. Past days are premium.

When does it launch?

Coming November 2026 to iPhone and Android. Month and year only. This page is not a download link. Public stores are not live.

How much will it cost?

Each day's quote (text and audio) is free on that day. Earlier days' quotes, the full library, and longer sessions require Premium. Premium is available as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase. The annual plan may include a 7-day free trial; the monthly plan and lifetime purchase do not. Prices appear in the App Store and Google Play when subscriptions go live. Restore Purchases uses your Apple or Google store account.

What devices will it work on?

Coming soon to iPhone (iOS 16.4 or later) and Android (Android 10 or later).

Are the quotes real?

Yes. Quotations are exact text from cleared public-domain editions, for example Florence Scovel Shinn's The Game of Life and How to Play It (1925) and Wallace D. Wattles's The Science of Getting Rich (1910). Summaries and affirmations are written by us and labeled that way. Where quoting is not cleared, the app shows a rights notice instead. See our Editorial Method.

Is the narration the authors' real voices?

No. All narration in The Greats Within is AI text-to-speech. The voices are not recordings of the authors, and they are not impersonations of how the authors sounded.

Is The Greats Within official or endorsed by the authors' estates?

No. It is an independent product of Five Explorers Press, LLC, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any author's estate, heirs, or publishers.
